Times are hard at the moment for the UK as a whole which is causing
chaos across the removal industry. People are now offering services from
as low as £15 an hour, in fact you probably think this is great as it
saves you a few quid, but think about it, you're about to let a cowboy
in to your house who's probably employed somebody he just met in the pub
last night to do your removal, in your house, around your family!
Then there's the established companies or
at least the ones capable of carrying out a removal without damaging
everything and sweating over it all because he's out of shape and not
used to lifting things. We have had customers telling us of other
removal companies (mainly based in the Halifax area!) scaring people and
making out that only they have vans capable of carrying out their
removal and making a few other unfounded claims about their competitors.
Luckily most customers realise that these are scare tactics and in fact
steer clear of these kind of companies, in fact we've secured a few jobs
because of this scare practice. Don't be fooled by companies that claim
they are the best and only they can offer the right service and fit your
furniture in to their vans, in fact there are quite a few very good
removal companies in Huddersfield, you will get a feel of their
competence once you speak to them and then eventually see them.
Here's a comparison to show how we
differ from cowboy removal companies.
1] We always answer the phone with you
in mind, we announce who we are and try to work out just what you need.
Most people who call for a quote or to book a job don't know the booking
process or what needs to be asked, we will help you through it all.
2] Our staff are always in uniform, we
pride ourselves on our appearance. We do try to keep our vans spotless
too but sometimes getting them off the road is a hard task as we are
usually very busy, we do wash them at least once a week though. Our vans
are modern always well kept.
3] Our staff have been with us for
quite a few years now, beware of companies that employ casual labour,
casuals are often un trained and because they probably wont be working
tomorrow, don't often care what damage they do.
4] Piano specialists! just about every
cowboy company, on start-up declares that they are piano specialists. I
couldn't count on two hands the amount of times we've been called to
rescue or complete a piano removal that has been attempted by cowboys.
Pianos are finely tuned and very heavy instruments that need to be
handled in a very careful manner. I've heard of companies quoting £18 to
move a piano, only to find on arrival that they cant move it and then
drive away.
5] Removals and Storage! Another
example of cowboys at work, just about every removal company now claims
to do storage, we've even heard shock stories about a company storing
stuff in their garage at home. We DO NOT use self storage to store
customers furniture and we DO NOT store furniture in metal containers
outside in the open, we have worked in these places in the winter and
they get very very cold, you can see your breath when you breathe out
which surely cant be good for your furniture. We offer very secure,
heated storage which we and only we control. Only we have access to it
and only we can move things in or out. You don't need to be worried
about people walking past your locker or playing with your lock when you
store with us. |
